JAMMU, Apr 2: Thakur Randhir Singh, NCP, State president has demanded Bharat Ratna to late PM, P V Narsimha Rao and Padam Vibushan to Late S R Ujlain, then Chief Engineer, Northern Railway who surveyed and started the project and also revived Jammu to Udhampur railway project.
In a statement issued here today he said that setting up of memorial of former Prime Minister P V Narsimha Rao with other late Prime Ministers at New Delhi by the present Government is a welcome step.
Consequently, Thakur posed the question to the Prime Minister, can’t we take railway from Udhampur to Baramulla? To show the world that Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India and said it will be not only a link between Jammu and Kashmir and India but also boost tourism industry in both provinces.
