JAMMU, Nov 12: Non Camp Migrant Organisation (NCMO) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Nana Ji Dembi has reiterated its demand regarding early allotment of quarters to migrants putting up in rented accommodations at Jagti township.
In a statement issued to press later, the NCMO said that these migrant families dependent on cash relief only are facing many hardships due to sky rocketing prices and are not in a position to pay the monthly rent. The meeting demanded that the rented migrants be given the benefits of PM’s reconstruction programme and it made an appeal to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and sought his immediate intervention in the matter and urged him to issue necessary directives to concerned officers for allotment of quarters at Jagti to rented migrants.
The meeting said that a memorandum in this regard was also submitted to Parliamentary Sub Committee that visited Jammu recently.
