NCEEITET begins at GCET

JAMMU, Mar 15: The two- day 6th National Conference and Exhibition on “Emerging and Innovative Trends in Engineering Technology” (NCEEITET) , being organized by GCET in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur, began today at GCET Campus, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu.
The aim of the conference is to provide a common platform to exchange innovative ideas and knowledge between the academicians, students, researchers and industry to serve the society in a better way. On this occasion, Talat Parvez Rohella, Secretary Higher Education Department, J&K Government, was the chief guest. M S Babu, MD CVPP, Jammu and R V S Khushwaha, Executive Director, PGCIL, Jammu, were the guests of honour.
Talat Parvez Rohella, while addressing the audience, urged upon the Engineering students, faculties and researchers to be an agent of innovative changes and industrial revolution to overcome the limitations in the socio economic concerns for the overall benefit of mankind. He motivated the students to take up the challenges and move forward with an analytical approach keeping in mind the mantra of “Invention and innovations”.
M S Babu and R V S Khushwaha also shared their views on the recent developments in the power distribution sectors throughout the country with special emphasis on the scenario for the State of J&K.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr Manzoor Ahmed Qazi, Deputy Manager, HE Project Kishtwar, J&K. He focused upon the need of consistent innovations and upgradation in the technology to remain as a frontline runner in this competitive global era.
Earlier, Dr Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET highlighted the contribution of Science and Technology for the growth and development of human lives and the pivotal role played by the engineers in bringing such transformations through technological revolutions.
Professor S S Pathak, IIT Kharagpur, the organizing chairperson of 6th NCEEITET, while addressing the audience on the occasion, emphasized on the role of Engineers to tap their potential as the young aspiring technocrats to utilize the available resources for the betterment of the nation and thereby boosting the economy of the country.
The two day conference comprises of invited talks, plenary paper presentations and interactive sessions with the industry personnel. Besides this, companies viz NHPC, PGCIL, IRCON, CVPP, JKSPDC, Tata Power, RODIC Consultants, BSNL, NIELIT and J&K Bank will display their exhibits using latest technologies to make the engineering students abreast of the recent advances adopted to make the lives of the human society more comfortable.
