NCB unearths Kashmir-Delhi-Mumbai drug traffickers’ racket

JAMMU, Mar 29: Narcotics Control Bureau, Zonal Unit Jammu has unearthed Kashmir-Delhi-Mumbai drug traffickers’ racket with the arrest of several persons with narcotics in the past two weeks.
This was stated by Manoj Kumar, Zonal Director, NCB Jammu while interacting with media persons here today.
He informed that NCB Zonal Unit Jammu affected a seizure of 3.928 kilograms of charas and arrested two persons on March 17 this year at Kunjwani Chowk. A truck in which the consignment was trafficked from Anantnag, Srinagar to Delhi via Jammu was also seized, he informed.
“NCB Zonal Unit Jammu also seized 8.400 kilograms charas yesterday from a Santro car from Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Jhajjar Kotli”, he said, adding that the drug was destinated to Mumbai.
He stated that in both the seizure cases, the nexus between the Kashmir, Delhi and Mumbai based drug traffickers has been unearthed. Main drug traffickers at both the ends have been identified and legal action under NDPS Act has been initiated to nab them, he added.
Apart from this, a seizure of 560 bottles of banned syrup bottles was affected by NCB Zonal Unit Jammu on March 26 this year at Lakhanpur Check Post, Kathua, in which a truck driver was arrested, Manoj Kumar said, adding that the contraband was concealed in the household items loaded in the truck. The banned syrup bottles were destinated to Srinagar for local consumption, he disclosed.
