NC seeks explanation from Govt over illegal appointments

Srinagar, Nov 8: National Conference today sought an explanation from State Government over illegal appointments in various missions and programmes that were made recently by flouting set rules and norms.
The NC provincial spokesman Imran Nabi Dar said that the present regime is “throwing all rules and regulations to winds” and resorting to “brazen nepotism”. “How come of director, a commissioner and other high profile appointments are being made without following the set protocol? The Government is making it clear that merit has no value in the present regime,” he said.
The NC spokesman said the media reports are full of documentary evidence exposing the rot within the administration. “No sooner after one of the directors own appointment, he conducted bogus interviews to adjust more blue eyed people in the said mission,” he said. The Excelsior had recently carried out a detailed report over illegal appointments by State Government.
Hitting out at the series of arbitrary appointments without necessary approval, Dar said: “The only thing visible in this Government is nepotism and blatant corruption which in itself has become one of the main reasons for the growth of anger and alienation among the youth of Kashmir.
The NC asked Government to come with an explanation as to how and why such appointments were made. “People have a right to know why this Government is hell-bent on corroding the laid down rules of appointments. What was the claim of the recently elevated candidates to such posts,” said the NC spokesman.
The NC spokesman claimed that that the recent appointments have bred anger and frustration in the KAS officers “who have given their sweat and blood of years in a bid to qualify for higher posts but are being systematically sidelined”.
