NC releases list of candidates for 10 LAHDC Kargil seats

KARGIL, Aug 3: For the first phase of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil polls, National Conference today released the list of candidates.
The list of Congress candidates includes Aga Syed Abbas Rizvi from Taisuru, Feroz Ahmad Khan from Silmo, Haji Ghulam Mohd from Parkachik, Aga Syed Hadi from Gund Mangal Pore, Er Punchok Tashi from Padum, Tsering Angdus from Karsha, Shiekh Mohd Raza from Choskore, Mohd Amin from Poyen, Ghulam Hussain from Stakchay/Khangral and Mubarak Shah Nagvi from Ranbirpora Drass.
The list of candidates was declared by Congress district president Haji Hanifa Jan.
Meanwhile, more than 200 families from various parts of Kargil,   which were earlier affiliated to Congress party, today joined National Conference. The mega joining program took place in presence of district president Haji Mohammad Hanifa Jan, former Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon, former MP Ghulam Hassan Khan, former Minister Feroz Ahmad Khan and other senior NC leaders at the party head office.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Hanifa Jan observed that supporters from ruling party were joining NC which was a clear indication that there was a strong resentment against the present dispensation of Hill Council which has miserably failed to address grievances of the people. He further said that doors of the NC were always open for all those who believe in the program and policies of the party and want to serve the people with sincerity of purpose.
The gathering was also addressed by senior party leaders, including Qamar Ali Akhoon, Ghulam Hassan Khan, Feroz Ahmad Khan and Ghulam Rasool Nagvi, who said that it was the result of the good governance of NC led Hill Council and previous NC Govt in the State that there was a realization among all sections of the society that only NC has the vision and commitment to address their aspirations. They further said that the previous PDP-BJP Govt in the  State  as well as Congress-PDP,  local Hill Council,  have  failed on  the front of deliverance despite making lofty promises. They stressed that National Conference alone can steer Jammu and Kashmir State from the present mess and ensure agenda of peace, progress and development.
