NC leader raises issues of people living in remote areas

BANIHAL, Jan 2: National Conference (NC) district Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen held a meeting of party workers at Ukharhal which was attended by prominent functionaries and office bearers of NC Pogal-Paristan block.
Speakers in the meeting highlighted various issues confronted by the people living in their respective areas.
Shaheen while addressing the meeting said people of the area are facing extreme shortage of electricity and portable drinking water.
He expressed concern over defunct utility services and dilapidated condition of roads, especially in hilly areas which have increased problems of the common people.
The NC leader said that power and drinking water supply is in disarray while scarcity of food grains at CAPD depots continues to remain a constant irritant.
He said that administration seems to be missing at the ground level as a result of which the people are at receiving end.
Shaheen said that the residents of Banihal and its adjoining areas like Kumbla, Buzla, Srachi, Hinjhal, Fagow etc are facing the brunt of unscheduled power cuts.
He urged upon the J&K administration to ensure adequate supplies of essentials particularly ration, sugar and kerosene oil, LPG Cylinders besides un-interrupted electricity and drinking water during the winter season.
On this occasion several political activists joined NC.
