BANIHAL Oct 11: National Conference (NC) district president, Sajjad Shaheen today castigated PDP-BJP dispensation for total neglect of rural and remote areas, saying the people have been virtually abandoned by the insensitive coalition.
Shaheen in a statement issued here, today said while utility services have taken a major hit under this dispensation, the development has come to grinding halt. The people are suffering on account of drinking water, power supply, rations and the roads are in highly dilapidated condition.
Interacting with the people at Chaknarwah village of the Banihal Assembly Constituency, Shaheen expressed anguish over shortage of teaching staff in the local school and said that the health services were also in disarray with most of the health institutions lacking medicines.
The district president of NC said the problems of the people were accumulating with each passing day but the administration, due to lack of political direction, is shying away in reaching out to the people, especially in remote areas.
