NC launches awareness campaign on Art 35-A in Doda

DODA,  Aug 27: District Youth  National Conference Doda  launched  awareness campaign to register its strong protest against abrogation of Section 35A  of the  Constitution of India at each block level in the entire district.
On the instructions of the district NC president Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy, YNC wing  organized a workers’ meeting  at  Trown block headquarters of district Doda today.   The meeting was attended and addressed by Provincial secretary YNC Shadab Suharwardy, District Youth president Doda Syed Naveed Hashmi (Dawar Peer),  Block president Azad Rishoo, Block secretary  Akhtar Malik, senior NC leader Syed Ibrahim Shah, Youth NC Block president Trown Irshad Ahmed Dar and other office bearers and grass root workers of National Conference.
Addressing the workers,  Provincial secretary YNC Shadab Suharwardy explained in detail the background which had necessitated the insertion of Art  35A in the constitution granting special status to J&K State. He said that forces inimical to the unique demographic and strategic position of J&K have been conspiring to erase the special status of J&K.
“It was the then ruler of J&K who had promulgated a law that would debar non- state subjects to settle permanently in the State in 1927. Tinkering with Article 35A can be disastrous not only for the State but will open flood gate of controversies and unrest.
District YNC president Dawar Peer cautioned the Central Govt not to take the risk of playing with fire to fulfill its ideology. He also cautioned the Central Govt not to create unnecessary confusion in this sensitive and politically conscious State. He said that abrogation of 35A would effect adversely all the communities and regions of the State. He said the State would lose its  lands and avenues of employment and moreover State would be losing its cultural legacy and language.
Block president YNC Irshad Dar criticized the Central and State Govt for creating controversies and diverting the attention of the people from the failed promises during elections.
