SRINAGAR, Apr 29: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah today claimed that his party joined forces with the INDIA Block to protect the diversity, unity, and Constitution of the country.
He made these remarks while campaigning in Central Shalteng and Eidgah Constituencies in favour of party’s MP candidate Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi.
Several events in Central Shelteng and Eidgah were organised by senior party leaders Irfan Ahmad Shah and Mubarak Gull, where Dr Abdullah, accompanied by Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and District President Peer Afaq Ahmad, criticised the current state of development in Srinagar, accusing the BJP of neglecting the Muslim-majority areas.
He expressed concern over the city’s developmental lag, particularly in managing urban challenges like torrential rains, traffic congestion, and waste management.
Dr Abdullah also questioned the fulfilment of promises made by the BJP since August 2019, including job creation and advancements in health, education, and recreational facilities in Srinagar, questioning the city’s readiness to be called a “smart city.”
He concluded his visit promising all-round development in Srinagar areas.
