JAMMU, Apr 10: National Conference (NC) Provincial president Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta today exhorted the workers to work in unison and defeat the communal forces while saying that the Party has a history of fostering brotherhood and foiling the divisive forces.
Gupta said this while welcoming the new entrants into the party fold during a party function. Scores of workers affiliated with National Panthers Party (NPP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) joined National Conference on the occasion. Shiekh Bashir Ahmed (provincial secretary) was also present on the occasion. The joining programme was organized by District president Udhampur Urban Sunil Verma.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta hoped that the joining of the new entrants will help strengthen the party at gross root level with a strategy to strengthen the idea of pluralistic progressive, democratic and united Jammu and Kashmir. The occasion was also used by Gupta to seek early regularization of the daily rated workers and other categories of casual workers besides other employees working on contractual or adhoc basis in various departments across J&K.
He regretted over delay in the regularization, saying this has jeopardized career of thousands of youth. “The regularization of jobs will bring respite to thousands of families and those engaged, whose careers have been at stake for long,” he said, adding that some of these are waiting for justice for over a decade.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed and Sunil Verma while welcoming the new entrants reiterated that NC is deeply rooted in every nook and corner of J&K. They asked the party cadre to reach out to the people and help them seek redressal to their problems.
