JAMMU, Jan 16: Rebuffing the claim of NC that only its rule in J&K can bring smiles back to the face of people, Jammu and Kashmir BJP general secretary and former Minister, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, said that many sections of society in the erstwhile State had bitter experiences for long years when NC was in power.
Dr Manyal said In fact, the NC gave tears to many sections which had no place in the schemes of the self-centric regional political party, which only promoted dynastic rule.
He said that today when not in power, the NC top leadership is making regular statements and claims to regain the trust of the people of J&K but will not succeed in its game plan.
“The victims of the atrocities and discrimination of any dispensation never forget their days of sufferings and miseries,” Dr. Manyal said and added that NC cannot mislead such sections which kept agitating and crying for decades but of no use.
Dr. Manyal advised the NC leaders to have a glance in the past and explain as to why the West Pakistan refugees were deprived of citizenship rights. Why daughters of the soil were issued State subject certificates carrying a stamp of ‘Valid Till Marriage’. Why the females of Jammu and Kashmir marrying outside of the State were deprived of the basic rights?
Dr. Manyal said that it was the NC which snatched the smiles and rights of refugees, daughters of the soil, and should seek an apology for giving them pain and tears. He said that even the Scheduled Castes in J&K did not have political rights for more than two decades when every other State and UT gave this facility to this community soon after the Constitution of India was adopted.
The BJP leader said that NC has realized that it did no welfare to many sections when in power and they will teach it a lesson in elections. The fear of losing in polls is making the NC leaders to claim of bringing smiles on the faces of people which is nothing except a gimmick.
