SRINAGAR, Aug 30: Ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections, National Conference working president Omar Abdullah has constituted the party’s Election Manifesto Committee.
Constitution of the committee was announced today by the NC general secretary Ali Mohd Sagar.
Senior NC leader and Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Mohammad Shafi Uri has been nominated as chairman of the Manifesto Committee while Mohammad Yusuf Taing, Surjeet Singh Salathia, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and Vijaya Bakaya have been nominated as its members.
Provincial president Jammu Devender Singh Rana and provincial president Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani will act as ex-officio members to the committee.
Ali Mohammad Sagar said that National Conference would soon come out with a comprehensive election manifesto for the Assembly elections aimed at continuing the holistic socio-economic development and political representation of the State.
