NC, Cong destroyed J&K: Karra

Anantnag, Dec 8: Senior PDP leader and Member Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra Monday said that National Conference and Congress have destroyed Jammu and Kashmir together during the past six years and they are destined to be doomed together by the end of this year.
Addressing a series of roadside election meetings in Dooru assembly segment of this south Kashmir district, Karra said having miserably failed the people of the State, if anything chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has perfected the art of character assassination of his political rivals through melodramatics and prevarications.  “Distressed by the reports of NC’s rout in ongoing Assembly polls, Omar Abdullah has now started a vicious smear campaign against the PDP leaders to hide his own colossal failures,” he said and added that the ongoing rift between Congress and NC ministers is like the proverbial thieves having fallen apart and spilling beans against each other.
Karra said after enjoying loot of State exchequer and the public for past six years the functionaries of NC-Congress regime are now blaming each other for presiding over the worst ever regime in the history of the State. “They have left no stone unturned in subverting the system, inflicting injustices and creating anarchy during the past six years and during the devastating floods,” he said and added that the irony is that having sent Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru to gallows and not allowing Syed Ali Shah Geelani to offer even Friday prayers, the NC leaders are today begging for votes in their name.
Karra said having all along banked upon dubious exploitative means for their political survival NC leadership is completely unnerved by the new political realization dawning on the State. “NC leadership’s last desperate resort is the character assassination of its opponents as the party has traditionally and with vengeance used this strategy to belittle its political rivals,” he said and added that in the contemporary circumstances, however, the NC leadership has lost the credibility to exploit such filthy tactics to its political advantage.
Karra said if NC leaders have the guts they should fight the battle in the political field instead of taking recourse to the cowardice tactics of launching a vacuous vilification campaign against their political opponents.
