JAMMU, Dec 17: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State general secretary and Member Legislative Council (MLC) Yash Pal Sharma alleged that NC and Congress cheated the refugees.
He said this while addressing series of meetings in favour of PDP candidate from RS Pura Assembly segment Bhushan Lal Dogra.
He said that a chunk of refugee population living in the border belts of RS Pura has been denied basic amenities like food, water and power supply for the past 60 years and Congress never took any extraordinary decision to sort their issues out.
“Thousands of refugees living in the border areas are struggling for their permanent rehabilitation in the State but NC-Congress coalition Government just gave political gimmicks and not the solution to their long pending demands”, said Sharma while addressing meetings at Phinder, Raipur Gujjaran, Simbal Ward No 2, Indira Nagar, Brij Nagar and other places.
Sharma said youth are shifting to the foreign countries from the RS Pura constituency in search of better job options after being denied justice by the ruling coalition and the same has become a threat on the sex ratio in the border belt but neither NC nor Congress in Government ever took this issue seriously.
“PDP patron has promised to establish a research centre for the development of better quality Basmati rice to improve the production of the rice which is being imported to foreign countries from Delhi. No Government other than PDP ever took this issue seriously owing to their shortsighted approach”, he said, adding that PDP patron wants to see all the three regions of the State developed equally on all parameters of development.
Bhushan Lal Dogra promised that he will strive hard for the overall development of the constituency and to fulfill the promise of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed if he is voted to power.
