UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: Provincial NC president, Rattan Lal Gupta said that NC is committed to empower women.
He was addressing a women convention of NC here today which was organized by Sunil Verma, District NC president Udhampur wherein Gupta was chief guest while Abdul Ghani Malik, senior NC leader was the guest of honour.
The meeting was presided over by Sunita Mehra, NC District president of women wing Udhampur.
At the very outset Sunil Verma and Sunita Mehra apprised the senior NC functionaries about problems being faced by the people in general and women folk in particular. Rattan Lal Gupta said that keeping up its commitment for women empowerment, NC supported the Women Reservation Bill in Parliament.
He accused the incumbent BJP government at Centre and in J&K of doing nothing for womenfolk except providing mere lip service due to which the women in J&K have been at the receiving end during the present regime.
