KOTRANKA, Dec 12: Minister for Planning and Development Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Provincial President National Conference Jammu Devender Singh Rana today described People’s Democratic Party as a spent force and said that in a fit of desperation and lust for power it has volunteered to be a partner in implementing Modi’s doctrine of trampling the special identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
“A party that has been shedding crocodile tears in Kashmir and pretending more loyal than the king in Jammu needs to answer its clandestine tie-up with BJP, the role of which in persecuting minorities has been notorious”, Mr Rana said while addressing workers’ meetings at Kotranka and Palma in Darhal Assembly Constituency this afternoon.
The Provincial President said though the PDP’s desperate attempts to woo BJP through a former chief of the Intelligence Bureau, an NGO and a journo is an open secret, the hidden parleys with a close aide of Narendra Modi is intriguing. He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are well poised to counter elements like Modi but it is very difficult to identify the enemies from within. He referred to the firmness shown by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to those indulging in grave provocations with regard to the special status of the state and said National Conference will stand like a firm rock against them.
Exhorting workers to further enhance their public outreach, Minister for Planning said that National Conference will not shun its responsibility of meeting the political, developmental and economic aspirations of the people. “While a sound base has been laid for equitable development of all the three regions, the next term under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be to consolidate the gains of the past five years”, he added.
Mr Sadhotra gave an overview of the developmental scenario and said special impetus being given to the progress of remote and border areas. He said thrust is being laid on ensuring infrastructural development in key sectors like roads and building, health, education, power and drinking water sectors. He hoped that the people will continue to support the Government in implementation of various welfare programmes.
Rachpal Singh, MLA and Central Secretary cautioned the National Conference against those unleashing false propaganda and hoodwinking the people by raking up frivolous issues.
Addressing the workers, former MP Mirza Abdul Rasheed apprised the people about the glorious role of National Conference in generating awareness among the people about their political rights and ensuring that they lead a dignified life.
