JAMMU, Mar 18: Principal Secretary Tourism Sundeep Kumar Nayak, today inaugurated the three day India Travel Mart (ITM) at Rajpath Club, Ahmedabad .
A delegation of officers and representatives of travel trade industry from J&K are participating in the Travel Mart to promote the diversified tourism products of Jammu and Kashmir .The delegation also highlighted the lesser known and emerging tourist destinations like Suchetgarh, Doodhpatri, Sanasar, Mansar, Verinag, Aharbal and the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra .
Visitors showed keen interest in the stall of J&K Tourism and inquired about the most sought of tourist destinations known for leisure, pilgrimage and adventure tourism like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Srinagar, Ladakh, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Patnitop, Bhaderwah etc.
Short documentaries were shown and brochures, flyers, video CDs and other publicity material highlighting different tourist destinations of the state were distributed among the visitors. J&K Tourism Development Corporation and Travel Trade Associations of J&K also announced special packages and discounts for the tourists.
Later, Sundeep Kumar Nayak along with other dignitaries visited different stalls and interacted with exhibitors from pan India and asked them to include Golf Tourism and destinations of J&K especially convention centres of Pahalgam, Srinagar and Patnitop in their itineraries and packages for the coming season . He appreciated the efforts of ITM in promoting the tourism sector.
