J&K Investor Summit to be held in Oct

SRINAGAR, Aug 2: Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce (I&C) Department, Navin Kumar Choudhary today held a meeting with the representatives of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to discuss about promotion of ‘J&K Investor Summit-2019? to be held in October in Jammu and Kashmir.
MD Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO), Ravinder Kumar; Director I&C, Kashmir, Mahmood Ahmed Shah; Chairman, CII J&K State & Managing Director, SRA Food & Beverages Pvt Ltd, Rajesh Sharma; Chairman, Regional committee on Tourism, Chairman Emeritus and Principal Advisor of South Asia at Radisson Hotel Group, K B Kachru; Regional Director, CII NR, Ankur Chauhan and Head, CII J&K State Office, Surinder Pal Singh attended the meeting.
The Principal Secretary said that the hosting of Investors Summit will provide J&K with an opportunity to showcase its potential. The participating trade and industry organizations will come to know about the business-friendly policies of the Government and can identify business opportunities in the State, he further said. The event will also provide the State with an opportunity to showcase its strengths, strategies and potential for the businesses.
After holding a threadbare discussion, it was decided that the roadshows at national and international levels will be organized to promote the J&K Investor Summit, worldwide.
At international level, roadshows will be organized in Dubai, UAE, London, Netherlands, Singapore and Malaysia for the exporters’ promotion and investments.
It was informed that the businessmen and the officials from Industries and Commerce will be part of the roadshows.
The roadshows will also be conducted in various states of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmadabad.
Navin Kumar Choudhary also held separate meetings with Kashmir Hoteliers and representatives of three Universities in Kashmir to discuss about their contributions for making ‘J&K Investor Summit-2019? a great success.
During the meeting with the Kashmir Hoteliers, Principal Secretary asked them to offer their facilities at the reasonable rates to the visitors coming to attend the Summit.
Navin said that the hoteliers should not see the days of Investor Summit as business days, rather by offering reasonable prices for their facilities, they should see it as their contribution towards the success of summit.
In a separate meeting with the representatives of Kashmir University, Islamic University of Science and Technology and Central University of Kashmir, Principal Secretary asked them to depute the group of students as volunteers to participate in Investor Summit.
