Natrang’s Theatre Fest from Mar 28

JAMMU, Mar 26: Theatre group Natrang is going to organise it’s 10th Theatre Festival from March 28 at Natrang Studio Theatre here in commemoration with the celebrations of 35 years of the group.
Giving details, Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur informed a press conference that four day theatre festival is being organised every month since May 2018 and the 10th such festival is starting from March 28 featuring four theatre productions.
“With the completion of this festival Natrang will set an all-time record in the country of staging 40 different plays by the same group in eight months,” Thakur informed.
“The festival will open with the play ‘Sabse Bada Aadmi’ written by Bhagwati Charan Verma then on March 29 Hindi comedy play ‘Lottery Ka Ticket’ will be presented and on the third day Pratap Sehgal’s ‘Daftar Mei Ek Din’ will be staged while on the last day of the fest ‘Riders to the Sea’ will be featured,” Balwant Thajur told reporters.
He further informed that all the plays will be staged at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni at 4 pm under the Direction of Neeraj Kant.
He also briefed about the earlier nine such festivals.
Balwant Thakur further informed that Natrang was established on May 15, 1983 with the presentation of two unique short plays ‘Neeli Jheel’ and ‘Nanhein Kandhey Nanhein Pair’ at Abhinav Theatre Jammu.
On this occasion, Thakur also said that in connection with the celebrations of World Theatre Day-2019, Natrang is having a theatre seminar entitled ‘What is to be done’ on March 27 at Natrang Studio at 5 pm.
Neeraj Kant and Sumeet Sharma were also present in the press conference.
