Natrang to stage Dogri play ‘Mahabhoj’ at National Theatre Fest

JAMMU, Feb 21: Theatre group Natrang will stage its Dogri play ‘Mahabhoj’ at National Theatre Festival in Odisha on Feb 26.
Written by Mannu Bhandari and translated in Dogri by Prof. R.N Shastri the play ‘Mahabhoj’ is directed by Balwant Thakur.
The most noteworthy feature of this performance is featuring of Anil Tickoo (recipient of this year’s Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Acting in Theatre) in lead role.
Apart from this two Bismillah Khan Yuva Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardees Vikrant Sharma and Sumeet Sharma besides other accomplished actors and State Awardee Suraj Singh as Music Director will also perform in this play.
This unconventional play revolves around the agricultural labourers of ‘SAROHA’ who bear the brunt of the wrath of their landlord for raising voice against his atrocities.
The artists who are going to perform in the play include Suresh Kumar, Neeraj Kant, Sumeet Sharma, Vikrant Sharma, Mohd Yaseen, Meenakshi Bhagat, Vrinda Sharma, Abhinav Sharma and Sumit Raina and music will be rendered by Suraj Singh.
