JAMMU, Mar 5: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ here today staged a classic murder mystery play ‘The Mousetrap’, based on the original work by Agatha Christie.
The play was adapted in Hindi and directed by Gauri Thakur, youngest theatre director of Natrang having national/international theatre experience of directing plays.
Cast of the play consisted of students from a fresher’s theatre workshop conducted by Gauri Thakur herself. The young and talented cast did a remarkable job of bringing the characters to life and keeping the audience guessing until the very end.
Play ‘The Mousetrap’ revolves around a newly opened guesthouse, Monkswell Manor, in British countryside. As the investigation into a murder unfolds, the guests’ secrets and motives are slowly revealed and tensions rise as suspicions mount.
Each character has a potential motive and the audience is kept guessing as to who the real killer might be.
In the end, the murderer is revealed in a dramatic twist, and the motive behind the killing is exposed.
The play was a thrilling and captivating performance, with each actor bringing their character to life on stage. Actors who performed in the play were Ishika Jandiyal, Amit Brahmi, Abhimanyu Choudhary, Shruti Thakur, Hardik Sharma, Amit Singh and Sheryaar Salaria.
Off-stage, the play was supported by Shivam Singh and Kushal Bhat, who handled the lights and Aadesh Dhar, who provided music score.
Set was erected by National Scholarship Holder Shivam Singh. Mohd. Yaseen coordinated the show and Mahikshit Singh did the presentations.
