JAMMU, Aug 28: Natrang Theatre group presented a phenomenal performance of a new play “Rainbows and Raincoats” as a part of its Sunday Theatre programme.
The pensive play, written by Syed Mudassar Ali took the audiences to a world which is actually true but still suppressed. Directed by Rajan Thakyal and Syed Mudassar Ali, the play portrayed the connection of ‘Rainbows and Raincoats’ as both are connected with the notion of clouds and rain but somehow still not connected.
The core idea depicted in the play was, Life is………….? Wondering, what will fill in the dotted space? Just think what can complete the gap according to you. Every individual has their own opinions and it shall be the same for this incomplete space too.
Likewise, every story has an absurd epilogue. Some like it some deny it, some accept it, some reject it, some value it, some just let it go, some take their inner emotion with themselves after they leave their body. Life has diverse emotions, seasons, trees, flowers, people and we all live with them. But, somewhere we are afraid of losing it and once lost, there are so many opinions that come out. But, nobody knows what is inside the person who has lost it. That feeling is something that stays inside the soul even if he doesn’t share with anyone. That connection is never lost it lives in those moments, in those smiles, in that laughter, in those tears, in those eye conversations.
The play depicted the same in an absurd as well as not so absurd manner. The play showcased an experimental performance with a twist of interaction with the audiences and the genre of clowning theatre, full of surprises and unexpected turns. It left the viewers to think and move out of the studio with their own end the way, they could perceive the end could be.
The impressive performance was given by Rajan Thayal and Syed Mudassar Ali. The lights were executed by Shivam Singh and music by Brijesh Avtar Sharma.
