Natrang stages ‘Overcoat’

JAMMU, Aug 27: Natrang under its Sunday Theatre Series presented a rejuvenating play “Overcoat” directed by Rahul Singh a budding theatre director of the State.
“Overcoat” is a short story by Ukrainian-born Russian author Nikolai Gogol published in 1842. The story and its author have had great influence on Russian Literature, as expressed in a quote attributed to Fyodor Dostoyevsky: “We all come out from Gogol’s ‘Overcoat’. The story that has been adapted into a variety of stage and film interpretations is translated by eminent writer Vidya Shankar in Hindi.
The fresh batch that participated in the play included Shivam Singh, Goutam Sharma, Gautam Kumar, Priyanka Pandita, Shushant Singh Charak, Shivam Sharma, Sadhvi Verma, Bhrigu Sharma, Mohd. Mohsin Raza and Vipan Singh. Music was rendered by Brijesh Avtaar Sharma. Lights were done by Raheel Sharma. The play was presented by Meenakshi Bhan and Sourav Khajuria & Akash Bhat looked of the hall management. The show was coordinated by Mohd Yaseen and Aishwarya Sathe.
