JAMMU, July 22: A new children’s play ‘Dil to Bachha Hai’ staged at Police Auditorium in Natrang’s Sunday Theatre Series in collaboration with J&K Police.
While welcoming the gathering, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur informed that Natrang pioneered the regular children’s theatre in Jammu way back in 1990 and has been organizing Children Theatre camps every year without any break since then. He further informed that Theatre camp 2012 was conducted at Amar Singh Club by Sumeet Sharma who is the creative head of children and youth wing of Natrang.
Today’s play was written and directed by Sumeet Sharma which presented childhood in a much candid and expressive manner before the audience.
The play unveils different excerpts of childhood in a very creative manner. When the play opens, Children are shown as if their summer holidays have come and they are planning to make maximum of it, some are planning to go out, some are going to join some hobby classes and some have joined a theatre workshop where they have to present stories before the audience so children start narrating the stories of their choice, most of them were wisdom tales, preaching a strong moral lesson but after some time they realize that the most appropriate story to tell anyone would be their own story as childhood has in it, all the elements of a perfect drama. So they present their own story propagating their desires and fantasies and at the same time their nightmares and the things which they despise. Some of the fictitious characters also appear on stage out of their imagination. So after all this experiences, the play was steered towards a happy ending where children are ready to cherish every bit of their childhood, considering it the most precious and formative time.
The children who performed in the play include Bhagyashree Kotwal, Manasvini Oswal, Rhythm Misher, Ojusvini Kotwal, Divyan Sharma, Gopi Sharma, Anannaya Sangra, Bhavya Jain, Stuti Kuthiala, Aafreen Singh, Kritika Bhau, Chander Pratap Singh, Chirag Anand, Mannat Arora, Poorti Arora, Yajur Mahajan, Apurva Gupta, Shayana Khajuria, Vaanya, Ishmeet Soni, Shreya Gupta, Sanyam Gupta, Tanya Dogra, Mihir Gujral, Sanchita Dubey, Deepshikha Sharma, Arshiya Singh, Petunia Singh, Shambhavi Gupta, Arjit Khajuria, Harbir Singh, Ritambhara Puri, Devish Puri, Pragya Jain, Aavishi Arora, Arihan Gupta and Danish Koul.
