JAMMU, Apr 30: This Sunday Natrang featured a new play ‘Dusra Paksh’ in its weekly Sunday Theatre Series at Natrang Studio. The play has been written by Hamidullah and was directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play ‘Dusra Paksh’ revolves around a few characters who all appear in pivotal position but the character of ‘Din Dayal’ emerges as the cause of the happenings in the play. He is an accomplished advocate who has high repute in the society. One day he finds his daughter very tense because she was being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend as she was getting married to someone else. She tried a lot to make him understand and forget the immature past and return back the proofs of their companionship but he was adamant and wanted to make money out of this situation. When Din Dayal comes to know about this vulnerable situation, he gets outrageously angry and decides to teach that blackmailer a lesson. He calls him at a secluded place and kills him. Here ‘Moti’ comes into picture, he comes to Din Dayal and narrates him the whole story of the blackmailer’s murder he also reveals that the blackmailer was his close friend and he knows who has killed him, this makes Din Dayal nervous but to his surprise, Moti tells him that he will take the responsibility of the murder and let Din Dayal go innocent so that he could marry his daughter gracefully. ‘Moti’ was Din Dayal’s son but his mother was not Din Dayal’s wife thus he was considered illegitimate in the eyes of the society. But as Din Dayal was caring towards his mother, concerned about his upbringing and had helped him many times as a father, he wanted to pay him back for his good deeds. At the end when insisted by his daughter, Din Dayal resolves to fight Moti’s case and bring the truth in front of everyone.
Natrang actors who performed in the play included Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Aman Kapoor, Bhisham Gupta and Vrinda Sharma. Lights were designed and executed by Neeraj Kant. Music was rendered by Akshit Koul and the show was coordinated by Mohd Yaseen.
