Natrang organizes Cartooning Workshop

JAMMU, June 14: Natrang organized a unique Cartooning Workshop for its Children’s Theatre Camp at Natrang Studio Theatre, here today. The Workshop was conducted by famous cartoonist, Chander Shekhar (Bunty), who has brought Jammu to the National/International limelight through his unique creations of cartoons.
The focus of today’s Workshop was to attract the interest of children towards this greatest art of cartooning which can magically enhance the creativity and imagination of the children.
Speaking about the art of cartooning, the Director of Natrang, Padamshree Balwant Thakur said that cartoons have always attracted the child’s eye and has been an important part in enhancing a child’s imagination, adding that Cartoons have been seen as ‘humour with a pinch of salt’ that not only is a creative medium to communicate but also a visual semiotics and visual persuasion medium.
He said cartooning not only is a part of a broader art form but is also an important medium for framing social issues.
The ongoing Theatre camp gives every child an opportunity to get all round
development so that they aspire to excel in all the fields of life.
