Natrang commemorates 40th foundation day

JAMMU, May 15: Natrang Theatre group here today commemorated its 40th foundation day by presenting super comedy play ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chal’ directed by Sumeet Sharma in collaboration with J&K Police.
In his video address, live from Mauritius, founder Director Natrang, Balwant Thakur expressed gratitude to everyone who has contributed immensely for the growth and development of ‘Natrang’.
Natrang has produced over two thousand actors many of which have made their mark in films and TV world.
Prominent among them include Bhanu Goswami, Anjali Abrol, Sunil Palwal, Harish Khanna, Neelu Dogra, Tajasvi Sharma, Ekta Kaul, Mansi Sharma, Vikram Sharma, Mridul Suri, Nariender Sachchar, Arvind Anand, Mohit Sharma, Pankush Verma, Ashok Verma along with Vrinda Gujral and Satyam Mehra-Child Artists.
Director Natrang, Balwant Thakur expressed that Natrang has a dream for Jammu and a mission to establish this place as an international destination of theatre.
The institution is all set to create an international level campus in Jammu housing an auditorium, two Studio Theatres, theatre residences, resource centre and an exclusive centre for children.
Today’s play ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal’ is Hindustani adaptation of a world famous French comedy by Moliere.
The play, which has been enacted several times, is based on the story of Mr. Kumar, a middle-aged “bourgeois” man whose father grew rich as a cloth-merchant.
Artists of the play were Anil Tickoo, Neeraj Kant, Sanjeev Gupta, Vanshika Gupta, Rahul Singh, Vrinda Sharma, Mahikshit Singh, Shivam Singh, Sanket Bhagat, Diksha Pandita, Arti Bhagat and Kananpreet Kaur.
Lights were designed by Suraj Ganjoo and Music was operated by Brijesh Avtar Sharma.
