KATRA, Feb 13: Second National Level Business Plan Competition, organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, concluded today.
More than 50 participants from different educational institutes, including University of Jammu, Lovely Professional University, Phugwara, Central University Jammu, SKAUST, Jammu and MIET Jammu, apart from the students of MBA, five years Integrated M.Sc. (Economics) and B.Arch. of SMVDU took part in the competition.
In a cut throat competition, team of International Centre for Cross Culture & Human Resource Management stood first while the second position was acquired by students of Central University Jammu. The third position was bagged by B Arch. students of SMVDU. In addition, two consolation prizes were shared by students of SMVDU and SKAUST, Jammu. A variety of business plan ideas converging on different areas were presented by the participating teams in the competition. The event was assessed by panel of judges, including Dr Anil Gupta, Asstt Prof, JU; Anjali Pathania & Gouhar, Asstt. Prof Central University, Jammu; Saheel, Assistant Director, MSMEDI, Jammu apart from Dr AshutoshVashistha, Dr Saurabh, Dr Sushil K Mehta, senior faculty members of Faculty of Management, SMVDU.
Earlier, during the inauguration ceremony, the chief guest of the function, Prof Sudhir. K Jain, Vice- Chancellor SMVDU, emphasized on the relevance of these type of competitions to augment and inculcate entrepreneurial and business skills amongst the students. Prof Jain also motivates them for developing realistic and empirical business plans with real groundwork, which can be instrumental to the success of entrepreneurial talent in the region.
Prior to it, the programme coordinator, Dr Supran K Sharma gave a brief about the event, number of teams and terms and conditions associated with the programme.
