Narula reviews arrangements for National Voters Day

JAMMU, Jan 19: To review the arrangements for celebration of National Voters Day which would be observed on January 25, Chief Electoral Officer J&K, Umang Narula chaired a meeting of officers in his office chambers here today.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, A. K. Sahu, Deputy Chief Electoral Officers, Rakesh Sarangal and Rashpal Singh, Consultant, SVEEP Harcharan Singh, Joint Commissioner JMC Kapil Sharma and others.
While reviewing the arrangements, Mr. Narula impressed upon all the officers to make necessary arrangements for the celebration of national event to achieve the objective of the National Voter’s Day. The theme of the National Voter’s Day is “Easy Registration-Easy Correction” in the electoral rolls by the electors. The Chief Electoral Officer stressed upon the officers to put in their synchronized efforts so that all the necessary arrangements are made well in time for smooth celebration of National Voters Day.
The points which came up for  discussion included, distribution of Election Photo Identity Cards (EPICs), administration of NVD pledge to participants, fixing of banners at identified places, congratulatory messages to the citizens, besides various other related points were also discussed during the meeting.
It was also informed in the meeting that the event will be celebrated across the State with large participation of various stakeholders.
