JAMMU, Jan 3: BJP State general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh today strongly advocated for the regularization of the temporary employees and workers of Education Department who have donated their land for construction of school buildings on voluntary basis in different parts of the State.
The BJP leader, who was addressing a gathering of these hapless workers at party office here today assured them that he will take up their issue with the Government. He said these employees and workers be given due benefit of SRO 520 under which services of temporary employees are to be regularized.
He said the total number of such workers is about 12,000 in the State and the Government had made a promise with them while they donated their land for construction of school buildings, additional rooms etc that they will be appointed as employees on temporary basis and their services will be regularized in due course of time.
He said these workers have been greatly pained after they came to know that they are not being brought under the purview of SRO 520 under which the temporary employees of Education Department are being regularized.
The BJP general secretary said that these employees were appointed as chowkidars, mid day meal workers etc by the Education Department on temporary basis and they were discharging their duties on these posts for a pretty long time with the hope that their services will be regularized by the Government as per the promise made by the authorities with them. He said it will be a big injustice with these poor and hapless people if they are not being considered for regularization under SRO 520 this time.
