JAMMU, May 27: Police in Samba District today claimed to have destroyed narcotics and psychotropic substances worth approximately Rs 47 lakh. A police official said the District Level Drug Disposal Committee carried out a daylong rigorous destruction drive of seized narcotics under section 52-A of the NDPS Act in presence of JMIC Munsiff Samba and Executive Magistrate First Class at M/s Anmol Health Care, Village Rakh Rara, District Samba, following legal protocol and environmental protections standards.
According to him, the destroyed contraband was seized in various criminal cases registered at different police stations of Samba District and included 719 kilograms and 850 grams of poppy straw and 2070 bottles of Corex valuing approximately Rs 47 lakh.
