DODA, Dec 1: Police today arrested a narcotics smuggler and recovered 750 grams of charas from his possession.
Police spokesman said that a police party from Police Station Bhaderwah intercepted one Nizam Din, son of Taj Din of Kokernag from Malnai and subjected him to frisking. From his possession, police recovered 750 gram of charas.
He has been booked under Sections 8/20/22 NDPS Act.
Meanwhile, Doda Police seized 20 bags of cement, which were issued for developmental works of Panchayats but were diverted for personal use.
The cement bags were recovered from Basharat Ali, a resident of Bhagwah, who had allegedly procured the same for personal works for getting illegal benefits. In this regard, case under Sections 409/411 RPC has been registered at Police Station Doda.
Doda Police is ascertaining the role of public functionaries in misappropriation of Government cement.
The narcotics smuggler was arrested and misappropriation of cement unearthed by Bhaderwah and Doda police under the close supervision of SP Doda Arif Rishu.
