Narcotics racket busted, 3 arrested

KATHUA Mar 18: In an ongoing drive of Kathua Police against drug peddlers, police today busted a drug trade between Kashmir based and Kathua based drug mafias.
In a major breakthrough a couple of days back Police Station Kathua arrested three drug peddlers on the basis of specific information from whose possession 200 kg poppy straw was seized along with one vehicle specially modified to transport contrabands.
Police said during search of house of one of the Kathua based accused Harpal Singh alias Balochi, S/o Puran Singh resident of W.No.14 Kathua an amount to the tune of Rs179300 was recovered and also 35 rounds of ammunition was also seized.
An case FIR No.58/2020 U/S 8/15, 29 NDPS Act, 3/25 Arms Act was stand registered at PS Kathua
However, accused Harpal Singh alias Balochi who is the main accuse and a known drug peddler of Kathua who has already been convicted and sentenced for 10 years by the Court of law in case FIR No. 170/2007 under NDPS Act is absconding and special police teams were constituted to nab him.
