Narcotic supplier arrested by ANTF

JAMMU, Aug 22: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of the Jammu Police Zone today carried out a successful operation, resulting in the arrest of a prominent narcotics supplier.
An ANTF spokesperson said that the apprehended individual Ramprakash Gupta of Link Road, Jammu had gained notoriety as a wholesale supplier of narcotic drugs within Jammu and Kashmir.
He said Gupta was a wanted suspect in case FIR Number 06/2023 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, handled by the ANTF Jammu.
“His modus operandi involved receiving illicit Narcotic and Psychotropic drugs from Delhi and distributing them among local youth in Jammu, profiting from the illegal trade,” he said.
“The arrest of the accused has successfully disrupted the network of drug dealers operating between Jammu and Delhi, thereby safeguarding the well-being of countless young individuals who were at risk of addiction due to his activities,” he further said.
The arrest was led by Inspector Amandeep Singh of ANTF Jammu, operating under the guidance of Shamsher Singh, DySP Police Station ANTF Jammu Zone, and the supervision of Raj Kumar, SSP ANTF J&K.
Further investigations are underway to identify the additional drug peddlers and clients involved in this network, with the expectation of more arrests in the near future, said the police spokesperson.
