Narco smugglers targeting students community arrested, heroin recovered

JAMMU, Dec 20: Police arrested two narcotic smugglers along with heroin worth several thousands from Shastri Nagar area.
As per police sources, an information was received that some persons are indulged in making youths especially students community drug addicts.
Acting over the information, police team from Digiana police post and Gandhi Nagar police station laid a track at Shastri Nagar cremation ground and arrested two persons along with 6 grams heroin worth several thousands.
The accused have been identified as Rohin Sanyal (20), son of Sunil Dutt of Thathar Paloura and Shubam Baldotra, son of Vijay Kumar, both residents of Thathar Paloura.
One of their associate Ranjit Singh managed to escape from the spot.
The accused use to bring the heroin from Damtal area of Himachal Pradesh and later sale it to the youths especially students community in Jammu at Rs 6,000 to 8,000 per gram to make them drug addicts.
With the arrest of these two narcotic smugglers, police has achieved a major success to curb the smuggling of drugs among the youths especially students community.
A case under FIR Number 304/15 under Section 8/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Digiana police post, SI Pawan Dogra and SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Inspector Bishnesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
