JAMMU, Dec 28: Police arrested a narcotic smuggler along with heroin from Subash Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team laid a naka near Subash Nagar and intercepted a white colour Santro car bearing registration number JK02P-0890.
During checking, police recovered 3 grams of heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Mangal Singh Chib, son of Jogeshwar Singh, a resident of Smailpur.
A case under FIR Number 173/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at police station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar police station Inspector Ashwani Kumar and Incharge Sarwal police post SI Vikas Hans made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Sandeep Choudhary, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
