JAMMU, June 9: Provincial President Women Wing Apni Party Jammu Namrta Sharma has appealed to the Power Development Department (PDD) to stop unscheduled power curtailment in the ongoing hot weather conditions.
In a statement, Namrta said that the PDD has forced people to face harsh summer conditions with continuous unscheduled power cuts in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
“Most of the areas in Gandhi Nagar faced electricity curtailment despite that they pay their bills and all areas are metered,” Namrta said and urged Govt to announce an amnesty scheme with regard to the electricity bills for the people keeping in view the covid situation, losses to the people in business and jobs which has given rise to unemployment.
Namrta said that the unscheduled power cuts have increased from 8 to 10 hours and it has created a difficult situation for the people in this hot summer.
