JAMMU, Jan 10: On the eve of Gurupurab, an impressive Nagar-Kirtan was taken out by the members of Sikh community from village Koulpur to central Gurudwara Barian in Samba district whereas another Nagar-Kirtan was taken out in Jammu from Singh Sabha Gurudwara Dayaran to Singh Sabha Gurudwara Pandorian via Mishriwala.
In Jammu the Nagar Kirtan was attended by the sangat of Block Bhalwal and Marh comprising Gurudwaras Mishriwala, Jungwari, Purkhoo, Pandorian, Dabban, Gajansoo, Simbliyan, Chaffer Chak and Kanachak.
Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore, MLA Raipur-Domana, Bali Bhagat, MLA Marh, Sukhnandan Chowdhary, MLA Akhnoor, Rajeev Sharma and ex-MLA, Raipur-Domana, Bharat Bhushan also attended the procession.
In Samba district, a large number of Sikh devotees including women and children assembled at Gurudwara Koulpur and took out the procession towards Gurudwara Sahib Barian. The holy procession passed through Koulpur Camp, Chack Slarian, Gudwal, Gaghore, Vijaypur, etc and culminated at central Gurudwara Barian.
Members from various Sikh organizations, children from various schools and religious preachers attended this grand Shobha Yatra which was held in connection with the 349th Prakash Utsav of 10th Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, which was celebrated on January 5 across the stated.
During the procession, a highly decorated Rath with flowers and other impressive material was framed by the experts on which Holy Guru Granth Sahib was placed. The head Granthi and other religious personalities were on the Rath and delivering holy sermons and religious slogans through the loud speakers.
Panj Pyare clad in traditional dress, carrying swords were leading the Shobha Yatra. During this Yatra many Sikh youth were displaying their skills of martial with swords, spear and other weapons.
Langer were also served throughout the way of procession.
