JAMMU, Apr 18: Minister for Public Works Naeem Akthar today reviewed the developmental works under execution in districts of Udhampur, Doda, Reasi and Ramban.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Public Works, Sunil Sharma, Chief Engineers of R&B Jammu and PMGSY Jammu, Managing Director JKPCC, Director Planning (PWD), Director Finance (PWD) besides SEs and XEns of the concerned districts.
On the occasion, the Minister directed so that the officials to expedite work regarding forest clearance for Bharat-Keshwan road so that work on the project is started at earliest besides starting work on Bheli Lal Draman road in District Doda.
He further stated that the matter regarding macadamization of Batote Kishtwar road, will be taken up with Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for execution.
Minister also called for prioritizing work over Shiva Dal Bridge so that the project is completed within the current financial year. He also called for early completion of ongoing NABARD and CRF works in all these districts and directed for completion of tendering process for new CRF works by end of May 2017.
Akthar asked the officers to conduct counselling meetings with the contractors for motivating them to participate in the tendering process for works sanctioned under PMGSY Phase VIII & IX.
The Minister also directed Superintendent Engineers to monitor the works including those of JKPCC in their respective jurisdiction and submit the report to Administrative Department on regular basis.
