REASI, Apr 20: The two day working Committee meeting of J&K BJP started at Reasi this afternoon. The meet was inaugurated by national general secretary of the Party J P Nadda. He was accompanied by State president Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP Legislative Party leader, Ashok Khajuria, National Executive member, Dr Nirmal Singh, former president of the Party Shamsher Singh Manhas , Party general secretary Kavinder Gupta and Reasi district president BJP, Ajay Nanda.
Over 150 delegates from all three regions of the state are attending the meet. During the first day of the meet Mr Nadda and other leaders felicitated Ghulam Mohammed Mir, the PDP leader from Kashmir who recently joined BJP. Besides, Tsering Dorjey former MLA and Ex CEC Leh was also felicitated by them.
In his address Jugal Kishore Sharma said that present situation in the country is alarming as there is uncertainty among the people. All time high corruption and price rise has been a cause of concern for the masses and the common man is suffering because of this a lot.
He said the people across the country have now realized that six year BJP led NDA rule was the golden period as the nation registered economic progress despite the international sanctions.
He said during the NDA rule despite the sanctions against India the people did not face brunt of it as the prices were under control. But soon after UPA came to power the miseries of the people increased manifold, he added.
Coming down heavily on the NC-Congress Coalition Governm-ent in the State for its anti people policies, Mr Sharma said that farmers, refugees, educated youth, women, weaker sections of the society, pensioners and employees are agitating for non-fulfillment of their genuine demands while it treats terrorists as VIPs. The same coalition has no concern for Chameil Singh while it discussed Afzal Guru and Pakistani national Liaqat Ali.
Mr Sharma said that the UPA lacks concrete foreign policy as a result of which our neighboring countries have been creating problems for India.
He said Reasi town has the distinction of being the land of great warriors and the Party should take pledge from here to work to defeat the nefarious design of all such forces which pose threat to the unity and integrity of the country and are working to weaken the ties between J&K and rest of the country.
