JAMMU, Feb 22: The executive members of the associations of officers, employees and retirees of Jammu unit of NABARD under the banner of United Forum of Officers, Employees and Retirees of NABARD (UFOERN) held a day-long dharna today.
Speaking on the occasion, R K Mogha (president) stated that the officers, employees and retirees of NABARD are on agitation for nearly one and a half years for resolution of their long pending demands.
He said that employees of NABARD, which was carved out of the Reserve Bank of India by replacing three of its departments to give focus to agriculture and rural development in 1982, were getting all benefits at par with RBI employees. However, he said that from last seven years, pension regulations of the RBI have undergone several revisions with the approval of the Department of Financial Services, Union Ministry of Finance but the DFS is yet to approve the same revisions for NABARD employees and is creating a disparity between the employees who had opted for NABARD and who had stayed back in the RBI.
Mogha said the officers, employees, and the retired employees of NABAD want the Government to provide full pension after 20 years of service, calculate pension based on last pay drawn or the average emoluments for the last 10 months, whichever is more beneficial, revise pension with each wage revision, reopen pension option one last time and give another option to those employees who could not opt for pension.
Satish Sharma (secretary) also addressed and emphasized that the long pending demands should be settled at the earliest.
