Naagpanchami celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

Devotees worshiping Naag Devta on the occasion of Naagpanchami in a Temple at Panjtirthi on Thursday.

JAMMU, Sept 19: “Naagpanchami” was celebrated with great religious fervor and gaiety  across the Jammu region today.
In this connection functions were held in various temples where the Naag Devta were worshipped by devotees.
The devotees, besides Pooja Archana performed Bhajan Kirtan in the temples. Hundreds of devotees thronged the temples from early in the morning and rush continued for entire day. Langers were also organised on the occasion.
A grand function was held in Billo Temple Panjtirthi where a large number of devotees participated.
Another function was held at Baba Dina Nath Sathan, Gole Panjpir here.
A large number of devotees thronged in the temple from early in the morning to have obeisance of Baba Surgal Dev, Sidgoria, Kaliveer, Mata Maha Devi, Maha Kali and Raja Mandlik in the temple.
Religious rituals were also performed there after which a “Langer” (common kitchen) was organized for the devotees.
Speaking on the occasion Pawan Kumar incharge of the Baba Dina Sathan expressed his best wishes to the general public on this auspicious occasion and prayed for the establishment of peace and harmony in the entire world.
The people also worshiped Nag Devta in their respective homes to invoke blessings.
