REASI, Mar 17: A two- day NAAC peer team visit was conducted at Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College Reasi for first cycle of NAAC accreditation.
The NAAC peer team comprised of Chairman, Dr Rajarami Reddy Gottipolu, former Vice chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University; Member co-ordinator, Dr Sushil Kumar Sharma, Professor, Department of Hindi, Mizoram University and Member, Dr Raman Lal Modi, Principal C P Patel F H Shah Commerce College, Anand College Gujarat.
Dr Yaseen Ahmed Shah, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, and Nodal Principal, Dr S P Sarswat received the NAAC team, which was presented `Principal’s Presentation’ by Dr Chander Mohan.
The team then interacted with all the Heads of the Departments who gave detailed departmental profiles and activities through power point presentations. The team also assessed the college premises and visited all the departments and verified the records. They also visited Science laboratories and reviewed all the equipment and necessary arrangements in the labs. They visited the NSS cell and also interacted with the parents, alumni of the college and students separately for getting their feedback. The peer team visited the college library, interacted with conveners of the various committees and cells and held thread bare discussion about the works carried out and problems addressed by respective committees/cells.
The team, thereafter, went to the administrative block and office of the college to have first-hand account of the documentary evidences. The examination section was also accessed by the team where the entire examination committee briefed them about the examination process. The team also visited Career Counselling Cell, Botanical Garden, Girls Common Room, Gymnasium and Health Room. The team then visited the IQAC Cell wherein they thoroughly studied all the documents in detail and discussed certain issues and prospects with regard to the functioning of IQAC Cell. The NAAC Peer members were also apprised about various initiatives taken by the environmental cell of the college. Prof Kaurab Singh, accompanied the members during their visit in the college.
In the exit meeting, the Chairman of NAAC team gave his remarks, recommendations and observations made during the visit. He handed over the report to college Principal
