This is with reference to very insightful article Nitty-Gritty of Kashmir Track II (DE May 20). Pakistanis born after 1947 have not been told that Pakistan was the creation of Anglo-American bloc. That is why Pakistan has served as their chessboard pawn. It is the same bloc that has been prompting Pakistan to keep Kashmir pot boiling. They are fully aware of Pakistan’s role in Kashmir insurgency but in support of their Asian pawn, they support the claim that the insurgents in Kashmir are freedom fighters.
However, when the entire network of international terror was exposed after 9/11, the US adopted the other method of bringing political pressures on India to make concessions to Pakistan on Kashmir. Pakistan wants a price for supporting US’ war on terrorism.
Our suggestion to the Government of India, especially the new Government is stand up to all pressures, intimidations and threats. The entire nation is solidly behind the Modi Government. All that remains to be done in Kashmir is to find proper time to implement the 1994 resolution of the Indian Parliament on Kashmir. Stooges who call themselves interlocutors should be shown the door. Modi Government should convey a clear signal to J&K that the era of blackmailing is over with the demise of Congress Government.
