JAMMU : A mysterious fire broke out today in one of the offices of Civil Secretariat in winter the capital of State.
Flames were seen coming out of the Cooperative Branch of the Civil Secretariat at around 0630 hrs, a police official here said.
He said security personnel and guards raised an alarms following which the fire tenders were pressed into service.
Flames were timely doused and swift action prevented the fire from spreading to other departments, he said.
Meanwhile, sources in Civil Secretariat said the files/papers and some records had been gutted in fire besides some electronic gadgets.
Short circuit seemed to be the reason behind the incident, police official said and added a case has been registered and investigations have started in the matter. (AGENCIES)
