Mysterious death of newly married woman turns into murder, husband arrested

JAMMU, Oct 6: The mysterious death of the 23-year-old newly married woman, whose body was found from canal near village Dabbar in Tehsil Bishnah last month turned into murder, as the husband of the lady was arrested today for killing her over less qualification and dowry.
As per police sources, body of a newly married woman was found from canal near village Dabbar in tehsil Bishnah on September 25.
After getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to hospital, where after conducting autopsy, it was handed over to family members for last rites.
The deceased was identified as Isha Sharma (23), wife of Aman Kumar Sharma, a resident of Patyari, tehsil Bishnah.
Bishnah police started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC.
During the course of investigation, it came to fore that the woman hailing from district Rajouri got married to Aman Kumar Sharma, a priest by profession on April 27, 2015.
The parents and relatives of the woman alleged that Aman Kumar Sharma used to harass Isha Sharma over dowry. They claimed that Isha had told them that she had been threatened of being killed if the amount demanded as dowry was not paid.
Acting over the clues, which were hinting towards the murder of the lady, the husband of the deceased was called for questioning, during which he broke down and confessed to having committed the murder of his wife.
The reason behind the murder as disclosed by the accused was less qualification, as claimed by the parents of the lady.
A case under FIR Number 147/15 under Section 302 RPC was registered against the deceased’s husband at Bishnah police station and further investigation is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Surinder Pal Singh solved this blind murder case by arresting the deceased’s husband under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Jammu Randheer Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
It is to mention that, demanding arrest of the accused husband, the parents along with relatives of the lady also held protest outside Bishnah police station few days back.
