My Town My Pride

Constant efforts are there by GoI and LG Administration to get bureaucrats of UT on ground to serve people better, listen to their day to day hardships, sort out their issues, take the suggestions from them and innovate new initiatives based on these suggestions. Series of Back to Village programmes, four in total till now, are testimony of sincere efforts of administration, in this series now second phase of My Town My Pride will be undertaken in all the 78 Urban Local Bodies. GoI has put in place so many schemes, even for the last man standing to get benefit but unfortunately some of these initiatives have not got the desired result due to poor coverage and LG Administration has taken these lapses very seriously, as a result for the first time Prabhari Officers are deployed for each ULB to supervise My Town My Pride programme and more focus on the non starter or poor performing schemes. Indeed it is of no use to announce a Jal Jeevan Mission and practically taps are without water or announcing special loans for unemployed youth but no meeting between banks and youth or no 100 percent Aadhaar seeding so how to get benefit of direct money transfer. Missing Youth Clubs, inactive Panchayat Paani Samitis, Swachh Gram, non identification of play fields at few places or less number of Amrit Sarovars are other underperforming golden schemes for which now Prabhari Officer will be responsible with monthly virtual and quarterly physical reviews.
Process of development is going on uninterrupted, modifications are being done to plug loopholes, new modalities put in place to provide scheme benefits to deserving public. Public outreach, strengthening grassroot democracy, service delivery at doorsteps and transparency are hallmark of all initiatives so no question of skipping the things as all these project/schemes are for empowering poor, providing things like direct monetary benefits or drinking piped water or electricity, in fact some of these for the first time after independence at some places. Strange it may seem, but true.
