LUCKNOW: Olympian Milkha Singh on Sunday said that his only desire is to see India winning gold medal in Athletics.
“Though I like all sports but it is my desire that India should win a gold medal in any athletic discipline,”said flying sikh.
Padamshree Milkha Singh, who was in the State capital to inaugurate an annual exhibition ‘Kala Utsav’ and new sports ground named after Milkha Singh of Excellia School, asked children to excel in sports. Milkha also showed pleasure in inaugurating the event and also hoped, that if the athletic track, is inaugurated then it would certainly fulfill his desire of winning medal.
The flying Sikh also spoke about the absence of track, shoe or proper equipments, yet he went ahead to mark a world record, however, missed the bronze by a miniscule margin. He motivated the teachers by saying that the future of the nation is in their hands and also appreciated them for their efforts for exhibition. (AGENCIES)
