Mustard seed futures gain on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 14: Mustard seed prices came up by Rs 19 to Rs 4,118 per quintal in futures trade today following accumulation of bets by the traders in line with optimistic physical markets cues.
Marketmen said operators were raising their bets backed by rising trend in the spot markets due to restricted supplies and pick-up in demand for oil mills, giving upward push to mustard seed futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, mustard seed delivery for the August contract sharpened by Rs 19 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 4,118 per quintal, in an open interest of 10,850 lots.
In a similar manner, the delivery of the most traded second contract September month lifted by Rs 14 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 4,140 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,20,590 lots. (PTI)
